I’m very excited to introduce you to our special cooking project featuring the diverse members of Sister Fit.
The purpose of this six-episode cooking series is to highlight and celebrate the heritage and professional work of our guests.
All of the episodes were filmed by Vicky Tan, a member of our Muay Thai program.
Vicky Tan filmed and edited Cooking, Culture, and Chaos!
Vicky has been a member of Sister Fit for over a year. Having graduated York University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Film Production, she has worked on a number of films and TV shows, the most notable being the Crave Original Series “I Have Nothing”. She is excited to finally share Cooking, Culture, and Chaos with an audience. She hopes that you enjoy the series and try some of the recipes yourself!
Our cooking show is a long-format series—it’s not meant to throw recipes at you to scroll through at a glance. We want you to sit down, get cozy, and watch the process of how the food is prepared while listening in on our kitchen conversations. We talk about how our guests grew up, how their heritage influences how they live, and what inspires them to do the work they do.
Here’s our guest list with the recipes that we cooked!
Episode 1: Filipino Tortang Talong and Beef Giniling featuring Kim Villaluz
Episode 2: Afghan Bolani featuring Moska Rokay
Episode 3: Tanzanian Shrimp and Casava featuring Natasha Sidi
I am incredibly grateful and blessed to have such talented, kind, and generous members share their recipes, time, and stories with me. I now have the immense privilege of sharing them with you.
Cooking, Culture, and Chaos will be released this winter season. Stay tuned!
